Connecting to her Melbourne roots, Magdalia’s second single ‘The House on Stanley’ details the loss of a loved one and the impact on those left behind. After the passing of her aunt in 2018, Brodie O’Halloran (Magdalia) was absorbed by grief. For the past 3 years she has used songwriting as an escape and vehicle through which she can filter her emotions, however it is only recently that she was able to address this milestone in her life. Drawing on strong imagery from her aunt’s life, the red lipstick, chocolate eclairs and of course, the house itself, Magdalia paints an honest picture of the human experience. Once again she tackles the hard subjects, hoping that the song can provide comfort to others who may be going through or have experienced the grieving process.
